"SLOWI" is a group of parents who are dedicated to bringing the practical benefits of the Steiner Waldorf approach to San Luis Obispo, and North Santa Barbara counties, including the Santa Maria area.

Waldorf is age-appropriate learning. We believe the current trend in mainstream education and culture tends to push children into dry, rote learning well before they are ready, and deprives them of an important opportunity for a connection with the world, based on where their needs and passions lie. The Steiner approach, also known as Waldorf Education, approaches learning through all the senses. This approach not only inspires children to love learning, but to become who they were meant to be, and to best reach their true humanity.
